Principal Dancer, Teacher, Choreographer, Director, and Coach
In my 23 years of dancing, I was lucky to have wonderful teachers, who not only taught me how to Dance, but how to live; bringing the joy of dance to others. I have traveled and learned how to conduct myself properly as a performer, under many different conditions and demands put on me by teachers, choreographers, producers, peers, and the public, who we train to serve. It is now my time to “give back” and share what I have experienced. My goal is to enrich your child’s life through the continuing process of professional dance education. Basic coordination movements, recognition of musical rhythms, and the ability to combine the two, creates your Childs’ true dance experience. I will guide my students with positive re-enforcement, and urge them to see the world of dance as a magical place, where all their dreams can come true. Dance Program Policies - Please wear appropriate apparel-black, pink, or blue leotard, with or without an attached skirt, optional pink tights, and proper fitting soft ballet shoes. Gymnastic bike short leotards are not suitable for ballet. Immitation ballet shoes will not be accepted. Ballet shoes can be purchased at Payless Shoe Store or on line at Discount Dance Supply.
- Students without proper apparrel will be asked to observe class only.
- Please send your child to school with hair pulled neatly away from the face, and secured in a bun. Securing hair afterschool takes away from class time. (Don’t be afraid of gels and extra pins!)
- I will give the students 10 minutes to change and eat a snack before class for extra energy!
- A small water bottel filled, is always a good idea.
- Please set up a time to discuss any personal injuries or limitations your child might have before the first class.
- Intermediate Ballet I is accepted by age, (7 years old) or by my personal descretion.
- If you are not sure which level your child should be enrolled in, please contact me directly.
- Ballet II classes, if missed, must be made up in a Ballet I class.
- Ballet III is a two class a week commitment. Classes missed will need to be made up in a Ballet I or II class.
- Ballet III is a preparation to Pointe class. Pointe Ribbons should be sewn onto their soft ballet shoes. Pointe shoes should be brought to each class if applicable.
- Lockers will be made available for you children to leave their ballet shoes in the Habiscus Studio. (In the past, students have forgotten their shoes and leotards many times at home). Please have their names inside their shoes and leotards.
- Parents are encouraged to observe class the last week of each month.
- Classes missed by my need to travel with my husband for business will be re-imbursed in full or re-scheduled at everyone’s convienence.
Thank you for letting me be an important part of their world!
