Virgin Islands Montessori School and Peter Gruber International Academy is located on the beautiful island of St. Thomas in the United States Virgin Islands. VIMSIA was established in 1964 and we offer programs for Toddler through High School. Our classes are well equipped. Our children are exceptional; our 10 acre campus is tropically lush fostering outdoor activity. Our students, staff and parents join to create a loving and caring community that is diverse and unique in many ways. Our island, and school, hosts a truly global community.
Competitive salary and benefits package offered. We regret that owing to immigration restrictions preference will be given to those who are legally authorized to work in the U.S. Due to the volume of applications that we receive we will only be contacting the finalists. We thank you in advance for your interest in our school.
Peter Gruber International Academy (PGIA: Grades 7 - 12)
PGIA candidates must be amenable to teaching under the auspices of the International Baccalaureate Programme (www.ibo.org). All PGIA teaching curriculum will be based on the IB MYP program for grades 7-10 and the IB DB program for grades 11 & 12. Our school is proud to be the first and only International Baccalaureate World School in the US Virgin Islands. In April 2009 we received our IB Diploma Programme authorization for Grades 11 and 12, in March of 2010 we received our IB MYP authorization for grades 7-10.
In the PGIA, we are always interested in reviewing resumes for experienced Middle or High School applicants for all disciplines, preferably with at minimum one year teaching experience and International Baccalaureate (IB) teaching experience. We are able to provide IB training for otherwise viable candidates. We review viable middle and high school teaching resumes year round.
Please send your resume to our PGIA Director, Ms. Gloria Arpasi at email@example.com, cc: firstname.lastname@example.org
