MONTESSORI PRE-SCHOOL TEACHER
Currently we are hiring a full-time Pre-School Teacher to lead one of two Toddler classrooms on our beautiful campus. Montessori training is required through the Association Montessori Internationale or American Montessori Association. We do offer paid training sponsorship to candidates who are experienced and a good fit for the role.

As a Toddler Lead teacher in a Montessori school, you will guide our students through whole-child development and parents through their Montessori journey. You will also play a key role in helping our assistant teachers flourish. This is a wonderful opportunity for a passionate Toddler teacher excited about building relationships with children, parents, and colleagues in a caring community where growth is valued and encouraged. Grades 6-12 Visual Arts Teacher (IB MYP and DP)
Currently we are hiring a full-time Visual Arts Teacher for our 6th-10th grade Middle Years Program (MYP) and 11th-12th grade Diploma Program (DP).  We need talented, energetic teachers who will put teamwork and student learning as their number one priority at our school. IB experience is preferred but we will train the right applicant. A higher education degree in your area of expertise is required and applicants should have 1 or more years of teaching experience. At this time, we are only able to hire those persons who are able to legally work in the U.S.

This position will teach 6th-12th grade MYP and DP Visual Arts courses. Our educators teach four, 72 minute classes, out of a 7 class schedule.  Our teachers have access to world-class professional development, job-embedded coaching, and a warm and welcoming community.

Part-Time Elementary Montessori Music Teacher

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Music Teacher to join our Elementary team. The ideal candidate will bring a joyful, inclusive approach to music education, inspire students through a variety of musical experiences, and collaborate with our Montessori guides to integrate music into the wider curriculum. This position is part-time and supports students in both Lower (ages 5–9) and Upper (ages 9–12) Elementary classrooms.

MONTESSORI TEACHER’S ASSISTANT
The Montessori Assistant's primary duties are maintaining the classroom environment and assisting the Lead Teacher or Directress. We prefer that candidates have experience working with children and be committed to working in a very busy school environment. The Assistant is expected to understand and support the mission of the school and be open, willing and excited to learn about Montessori education. Professional behavior is always expected.

VIMSIA is looking for substitute Montessori classroom assistants for all levels, Toddler through Upper Elementary.

  • Qualified candidates will have a High School Diploma or equivalent and the ability to work in the US Virgin Islands.

  • CPR Certification and Food Handlers Card are not required, but are a plus!

  • English/Spanish fluency preferred

Peter Gruber International Academy (PGIA):  Grades 6 to 12

PGIA candidates must be amenable to teaching under the auspices of the International Baccalaureate Programme (www.ibo.org). All PGIA teaching curriculum will be based on the IB MYP program for grades 6-10 and the IB DB program for grades 11 & 12. Our school is proud to be the first and only International Baccalaureate World School in the US Virgin Islands. In April 2009 we received our IB Diploma Programme authorization for Grades 11 and 12, in March of 2010 we received our IB MYP authorization for grades 7-10.   

In the PGIA, we are always interested in reviewing resumes for experienced Middle or High School applicants for all disciplines, preferably with at minimum one year teaching experience and International Baccalaureate (IB) teaching experience.  We are able to provide IB training for otherwise viable candidates. We review viable middle and high school teaching resumes year-round.
