History
In January 1964 a preschool class of twelve students began meeting in one room, built on a donated half-acre of land. The VI Montessori School was born.

Organization
Virgin Islands Montessori School and Peter Gruber International Academy (VIMSIA) is a private non-profit 501(c)(3) school governed by a Board of Trustees, consisting of a mixture of current parents as well as non-parents, and representing a diverse mixture of skill sets from our island community.
