Accreditations & Affiliations
VIMSIA has the rare global distinction of being tri-accredited for our program offerings from 12 months old to 12th grade. MSA, AMI and IB are internationally recognized as three of the most successful authorizations and educational methodologies in the world.
VIMSIA is proudly accredited by three different prestigious accrediting bodies:
Middle States Association
Association Montessori Internationale
International Baccalaureate Organization
Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools (MSA)
Our school is fully accredited by the Middle States Association of College and Schools for Toddler through 12th Grade. We also sit on the accreditation committee to review other schools in the Caribbean. We are in the process of adding further Middle States Accreditations for Service Learning and International Schools.
Association Montessori Internationale (AMI)
Since our founding in 1964, VI Montessori School has been an AMI Accredited Montessori Program. AMI is Internationally recognized as the oldest and most respected Montessori Program accrediting organization in the world.
The Association Montessori Internationale (AMI) strictly regulates the standards to be met by member schools and teachers through their consultation program. They offer and run teacher-training programs, and organize national and international workshops and conferences. A team of specially trained consultants visits each school at least every three years.
Our four Primary classrooms are fully AMI accredited. And our entire 12 months through grade 5 program follows strict and authentic Montessori principles. While are fully accredited by AMI in Primary, we have AMI-trained educators at every level (Toddler to Grade 5) and follow all Montessori principles in every part of the student experience, both in and out of the classrooms.
International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO)
The Peter Gruber International Academy at V.I. Montessori School has been an IB World School for grades 6 - 12 since 2008.
The IBO was established in 1964 with a focus on providing standardized and vertically integrated educational practices around the world specifically geared toward students of United Nations families - to provide consistency for those children that were moving around the world throughout their school years.
Middle Years Programme (MYP)
Our 6th - 10th grades are authorized for the IB MYP Programme.
Diploma Programme (DP)
Our 11th and 12th grades are authorized for the IB DP Programme.
Also of note:
The VI Department of Human Services accredits VIMSIA’s La Casa Toddler Program and our Spark After Care Program.
VIMSIA is also fully recognized and endorsed by the VI Department of Education.
