VIMSIA Athletes Place in VI Territory XC Championships

VIMSIA Athletes participated in the Territory’s Cross Country Championships on St. Croix last weekend.

Aidan Griffith took 2nd place for Varsity Boys and Maia Tolud placed 1st for Junior Varsity Girls.

The Back to School Fun Run begins Cross Country Season

Cross Country season is here!

The Back to School Fun Run was held last Tuesday as a season opening race. The following athletes placed in their respective divisions;

Boys 7-9y/o Half mile: Finn Torrice-Hairston 1st place

Girls 10-12y/o One mile: Zia Zucker 2nd place

Boys 10-12y/o One mile: Owen Livingston 1st place and Graham Pickett 2nd place

Girls 13-15y/o One Mile: Maia Tolud 2nd place

Boys 13-15y/o One Mile: Aidan Griffith 2nd place

Boys 16 & over One mile: Teagan Kappel 1st place

More in sports!  Unofficially, the Boys Varsity Cross Country team won their meet Tuesday with a 47 point performance.  The boys lost last week with a close second to Antilles, but had a great bounce back this week. Shout out the all JV and Varsity runners on the Cross teams and big ups to their efforts on the field.   

Elementary Cross team nearly swept the meet on Tuesday! Volts took 1st through 4th place unofficially winning the meet - Owen 1st, Khafri 2nd, Pedro 3rd and Malachi 4th. Girls also unofficially won their meet this week with Marianna taking third place.

Official results from Tuesday, Oct 16 are in with Elementary Girls and Boys Volts each winning their elementary meet. Owen took first and Malachi taking second for the boys - Devin took third for the girls. Maia won the JV girls race and Varsity boys took a close second for their team race.

Volts: Cross Country Update

Coach Nurse (Shane DeGannes) has all of his Cross Country teams in great shape this year.  Here are the results from the first meet.  Meets are held at UVI every Tuesday at 4:00.  Volts field Elementary, JV and Varsity teams.

All runners are looking great, with many reaching personal bests during the first meets. Talisse Thompson continues to excel as the number 1 female varsity cross country runner for STT/STJ.  Ali Bartsch is currently the third place female varsity runner.    Maya Ethridge and Taber Helton are currently placed in the top three for JV.  The elementary teams are sitting first and second for girls and boys respectively.
