Basketball

This week, our junior varsity boys and girls teams had games against IEKHS and the CAHS B-team, respectively. The girls played first and it was a back and forth defensive affair with the lady Volts coming out on top 5-4. Our girls are now 3 - 2 on the season with one more game to play on a date to be determined. The boys played in only their second game of the season against a tough IEKHS squad, and they came out on the losing side 59-31. The boys next game is on Saturday, February 25 against CAHS at the VIMSIA upper court at 11 am

In addition to the boys game tomorrow, after many delays our middle school boys basketball team will be playing their first game of the season against our rival, Antilles, at VIMSIA upper court at 10 am. They will also be playing in St. John next Tuesday, February 28th against JESS at the Pine Peace basketball court at 4pm. Once again, we hope to see you out there supporting these teams!

Track and Field

We've now participated in four track and field meets and Eudora Kean high school. Yesterday we had strong performances by Richie Lazarus competing in the 100 meters in the 7-8 year old division, and Carmen Robinson, Morgan Tolud, Isabelle Barrows, and Aven Dellinger competing in the 100 meters and the 4 x 100 relay in the elementary division. Morgan, Isabelle, and Aven also ran in the 800 meters event, and Aysia Frett, Ella Popple, and Maia Tolud ran in the 200 meters in the high school division. Last Cecil Hector ran and finished first in the 1500 meters in the boys high school division. This was our largest contingent of participants so far. There is one more meet happening next Thursday, March 2nd at the Eudora Kean track. We hope to see you there!
