Basketball and Track & Field Off to a Great Start

Our winter sports season is underway

Basketball and track and field have already had their first events of the year. Here are recaps and photos from Athletic Director Wyatt Franz.

Basketball
Things kicked off last Saturday at the Eudora Kean High School Gym with our junior varsity girls winning over the Charlotte Amalie High School junior varsity 'B' team, with a final score of 8-3. On Thursday February 1, we hosted the Charlotte Amalie boys junior varsity and girls junior varsity 'A' teams, and while both teams did not win their games, they put up a good fight, the girls losing first by a score of 38-17 and the boys losing 41-24. It was great to have a home game and see all of our fans support our teams.

Track & Field
On Thursday February 1, our boy's and girl's track team also competed at the Eudora Kean High School track for the first of several meets. We brought a small but mighty team to the meet, with two elementary students, Isabelle Barrows (800m and 100m) and Carmen Robinson (100m), and four high schoolers Ella Popple (800m), Cecil Hector (800m), Andrew Bornn (200m), and Maia Tolud (200m) representing. The next meet will take place next Thursday, February 8 after school.

If your child is interested in participating, there is still room to compete! Below is the basketball schedule for our Middle School Boy’s, JV Boy’s, and JV Girl's teams.

Please come on out and support our teams! (And if you need a refresher on our official school cheers, we’ve got you.).
Let’s go, Volts!!!
